How to Use Web Disk in cPanel?

Web Disk is a utility offered with cPanel which can be used to manage files using one’s operating system interface.

Accessing the Web Disk application uses your computer’s operating system for manipulating the files. Allowing you to add, delete or move files to the server just as you would do on your computer. You can easily drag and drop files from your computer to the server. And also navigate files on the server the way you can on your computer.

  1. First Login to your cPanel account. Now, scroll down to the files section and Open the Web Disk application.
  2. Before you can use the Web Disk application you need to configure it. (This is necessary when using Web Disk for the first time.)
  3. Configuring the Web Disk:

    1. Enter the Username and Password in the respective fields. (You can use the password generator to generate a strong password.)
    2. Specify the directory you wish to connect through Web Disk and click Create.
      Now your new Web Disk account would appear in the Web Disk account management table (See Below)

  4. You need to choose the operating system and check SSL if you wish to connect securely. (Here you can also create a shortcut to Web Disk on your desktop for accessing it later.)

    After the configuration is complete you would see a window open up on your computer which would list the files on your server. You can use this window to manage the files of your website.

    Once the Web Disk account is created. You can use it for future purposes by clicking on the Access Web Disk button (See screenshot above).
